Connie Zhang is the founder and President of Riley Creek Advisors, a consulting company that helps Green Tech companies market and sell their technologies and products to China. Her current focus is on clean water, clean air, alternative energy and solid waste management.

Prior to the new venture, Ms. Zhang was Managing Director of SGS Ventures, a company that focused on taking unique intellectual properties to market in the US and China. Her main focus was on implementing clean fuel, air, water and environmental technologies in the Chinese industrial market and fund raising in China.

Ms. Zhang was an original member of the executive team that licensed and subsequently acquired Polaroid and grew from a start-up to a US$1billion consumer electronic business within 4 years. As Vice President of Business Development, Ms. Zhang had cooperated with over 100 global suppliers. She had been responsible for defining global sourcing strategies; for launching new products with cutting-edge technologies; for identifying and evaluating global strategic partners in consumer electronics, home appliances, lawn and garden products, gifts and crafts, housewares, pharmaceuticals, apparel, and toys; for maintaining executive relationships with major global manufacturers; for helping manufacturers secure credit lines in excess of US$100mil with insurance companies and financial institutions; and for initiating sales in the Australian market.

Ms. Zhang’s previous experiences include working at various Fortune 500 companies including General Electric, LG Electronics, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Medtronic. She also has start-up experience managing China supply chain operations at Color Kinetics, culminating the company’s 2004 IPO. She earned her MBA degree from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from Beijing University in Economics. She is a native of Beijing and fluent in English, Chinese and Korean.
